Having grown up in Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Bolivia, she also studied for a year in La Universidad de Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain. These experiences enrich her instruction and are well-aligned with the department's aim to promote a world-embracing vision.
Dr. Sobhani is the founder and managing editor of Azahares, UAFS's premier Spanish language creative journal. Her recent academic publications center on U.S. Latino literature and include pieces on Luis Alberto Urrea's novels and Gloria Anzaldua's nepantlism.
