LionHeart Hosts Spring Blood Drive
The University of Arkansas - Fort Smith will host its annual spring blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, April 13-14, in room 129 of the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center, located at 800 N. 49th Street.
The blood drive is hosted by the Arkansas Blood Institute, a non-profit blood center, and sponsored by the UAFS Lion Heart organization. Every student donor will receive service hours, and the event will provide free food to all that donate.
According to the Arkansas Blood Institute, an estimated 38 percent of the U.S. population is eligible to donate blood at any
given time, but less than 10 percent do so annually.
The university coordinates five blood drives each year, providing blood to the Arkansas
Blood Institute to help patients in more than 40 Arkansas hospitals.
Interested donors may drop in or schedule an appointment by contacting the Student Activities Office at 479-788-7699 or emailing studentactivities@uafs.edu.
