Chancellor Message: Weather Update
Dear colleagues and students,
Chief Ottman has confirmed that our campus conditions are good following the big snow that hit yesterday afternoon through the early morning hours. Parking lots, sidewalks, and roadways still have slush, but they should be mostly clear and wet tomorrow. We have power and we have heard from both big electric companies that power should be restored throughout our community by mid-day in our communities.
As a result of this good news, we will open campus for normal operations first thing tomorrow, January 26. Online, in person, and concurrent/WATC classes will be held as regularly scheduled.
My sincere thanks to UPD, Plant Operations, SSC, Chartwells, and others who worked to keep campus safe and clean it up in preparation of our return tomorrow. Also, thank you to the Department of Human Resources for helping us to pivot to inclement weather leave and for answering your questions…and mine. If you have any further questions, please be sure to talk with your faculty members, supervisors, or HR professionals.
Thank you to everyone for doing your part to keep roads safe. Your safety is our highest priority!
Stay warm, Lions.
Chancellor Terisa Riley
