Local residents considering college can learn more about what financial aid opportunities are available to them at the Countdown to College event held at 2 p.m. March 15 in the Baldor Technology Center on the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith campus. 

 

Participants will receive information about the financial aid process and the Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship. They will also be able to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

 

Attendees should bring their 2014 tax return information, 2014 W-2 forms, social security number, knowledge of checking and saving account balances and amount of untaxed income and child support received in 2014.

 

Those interested in attending Countdown to College must apply for a pin at www.pin.ed.gov at least a week in advance and bring that information to the event.
