The Department of Music at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith will present a choral spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27 at the First Presbyterian Church in Fort Smith, located at 116 North 12th St.
The concert is titled “Crystalline Sounds” and is free and open to the public.
Under the direction of Dr. Timothy Workman, assistant professor and director of choral activities, the UAFS Chorale and the Women’s Chorus will perform liturgical works with a mix of contemporary choral sounds and spiritual songs. Terri Bailey and Gini Law will also perform as collaborative pianists.
“We hope to take advantage of the beautiful space at First Presbyterian and sing music designed for a church venue,” Workman said. “We will have several A Cappella pieces and some with piano and organ. The music will be lush and beautiful with a lively performance of ‘Wade in the Water’ to finish it off.”
