The Tony Award-winning Broadway musical “Cinderella,” written by the legendary musical duo Rodgers and Hammerstein, will come to Fort Smith for a performance at 7:30 p.m. April 23 as part of the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith’s Season of Entertainment 37.
The show will take place in the ArcBest Corp. Performing Arts Center in the Fort Smith Convention Center, located at 55 S. 7th Street. Tickets are $47 or $50 depending on seating tier.
The Tony Award-winning musical, written by the same duo who created “The Sound of Music” and “South Pacific,” is a contemporary take on the classic fairy tale. Featuring the beloved songs “In My Own Little Corner,” “Impossible/It’s Possible” and “Ten Minutes Ago,” the show includes all of the cornerstone moments from “Cinderella,” such as the glass slipper, masked ball, and pumpkin, as well as new twists.
Stacey Jones, associate vice chancellor for campus and community events, said the show will dazzle the audience.
“This is one of the best and biggest Disney musicals to come off Broadway in years,” Jones said. “The show is obviously family friendly and is filled with major production numbers that you know and love from the classic story. Everybody should come downtown and experience a retelling of this classic tale.”
The concert is part of Season of Entertainment 37, a yearlong lineup of entertainment sponsored by the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith featuring a variety of plays, musicals and symphonic performances.
