The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith will host a Music Faculty Showcase at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at The Blue Lion at UAFS Downtown, located at 101 N. 2nd Street.
The concert, which is free and open to the public, will feature a variety of music performed by faculty members in the university’s Department of Music, with genres ranging from baroque to classical to contemporary.
The concert has quickly become a musical tradition at the university, according to Dr. Christopher Barrick, head of the Department of Music.
“I think I speak for the entire faculty of the UAFS Department of Music when I say how much of a privilege it is to take the stage together with our colleagues,” Barrick said. “We enjoy starting each semester with a performance for our students, faculty and staff from around campus, and the greater Fort Smith region.”
