The Tejas Brothers, an acclaimed musical quartet from Texas known for their blend of "Tex-Mex Honky Tonk", will return to Fort Smith for a concert at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 18 as part of the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith's Season at The Blue Lion.
Tickets are $25 for the general public. The performance will be held at The Blue Lion at UAFS Downtown, located at 101 N. 2nd Street.
Featuring Dave Perez on accordion, John Garza on bass, Justin Alverson on guitar, and Beau Johnson on drums, the musical group has received acclaim for its unique fusion of polka, blues, and country, among other genres.
The group's previous performance at The Blue Lion two years ago was one of the most popular held at the venue, according to Stacey Jones, associate vice chancellor of campus and community events.
"I've never been inundated with so many requests to bring an act back as I was with the Tejas Brothers," Jones said. "Their show is so different and fun, and people of all ages had a great time that evening. And they will again this time around."
The show is part of the university's Season at The Blue Lion, a lineup of musical performances held at the university's downtown venue featuring local and nationally recognized musicians.
