UAFS's Associate of Applied Science in Nursing degree provides an affordable, shortened path to graduation for students who want to become RNs.
Do you want a rewarding career that allows you to make a life-changing difference in people's lives? Do you have an active, unencumbered LPN license? Take the next step in your professional career by enrolling in the LPN to ADN pathway, earning your associate degree in nursing (ADN), and becoming an RN.
Unlike other associate degree nursing programs, ours has been developed in partnership with healthcare providers. It delivers a focused degree plan that takes just two years (four semesters) to complete.
At UAFS you'll learn from experienced faculty in some of the region's most advanced facilities and gain hands-on experience in hospitals, clinics, and healthcare facilities throughout the River Valley. UAFS offers multiple, generous scholarships that allow our program to combine quality and affordability.
Upon successful completion of the AAS in Nursing program, you'll be fully prepared to take the NCLEX-RN exam. UAFS is among the best in Arkansas at preparing students to for NCLEX-RN exam success. (View UAFS's NCLEX-RN pass rate.)
What does a Registered Nurse do?
As a Registered Nurse (RN), your career options are as diverse as your passion for helping others. From providing direct patient care to influencing healthcare policies, the role of the RN is dynamic and impactful. The opportunities are also plentiful and include flexible schedules, per diem shifts, shift differentials, and more. The average annual RN starting salary in Arkansas is roughly $65,000, which is higher than the national average entry salary.
An AAS degree in Nursing is also a pathway toward earning your BSN or advanced nursing degree.
