Bring together classroom instruction and hands-on practice with an associate degree in welding.
The Associate of Applied Science in general technology - welding is designed for students to develop skills that meet certain certification test standards for both structural and high-pressure vessel welding. Students will learn basic and advanced skills in Arc, MIG, and TIG welding along with theories and practical application of fabrication and layout. Courses include technical skill proficiencies standardized by the American Welding Society.

Technical Certificate
Welding
This 32-hour program provides you with fundamental coursework in welding and print
reading, Arc, TIG, and MIG Welding, and layout and fabrication. All hours earned with
this credential transfer into the A.A.S. program.
Certificates of Proficiency
Arc Welding
This 12-hour program provides skill-specific entry level training with fundamental
coursework in welding and print reading and basic and advanced Arc welding. The courses
may also be applied towards the A.A.S. degree.
MIG Welding
This 12-hour program provides skill-specific entry level training with fundamental
coursework in welding and print reading and basic and advanced MIG welding. The courses
may also be applied towards the A.A.S. degree.
TIG Welding
This 12-hour program provides skill-specific entry level training with fundamental
coursework in welding and print reading and basic and advanced TIG welding. The courses
may also be applied towards the A.A.S. degree.
Welding Fabrication and Layout
This 12-hour program provides skill-specific entry level training with fundamental coursework in welding
and print reading, sheet metal layout and fabrication, and structural and pipe layout
and fabrication. The courses may also be applied towards the A.A.S. degree
ATMAE Accreditation
The welding technology program has received accreditation from the Association of Technology Management and Applied Engineering (ATMAE).
