Annual Security Report
The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act ("Clery Act") is a federal statute requiring all colleges and universities that participate in federal financial aid programs to keep and disclose information about crime on and near their respective campuses. This information can be found below.
This information is updated annually using information provided by the UPD and the Fort Smith Police Department. UPD also keeps a daily crime log that is viewable to the public at the University Police Department. The daily crime log is a list of all crimes reported to UPD within the last 60 days. Information prior to 60 days can also be viewed, but may not be readily accessible.
Among other requirements the Clery Act states that all colleges and universities must give a timely warning to staff, faculty, and students concerning any crimes that pose an ongoing threat to the campus community. You can help UAFS notify you during any such instance by signing up for the LionsAlert message service. When you register for LionsAlert, you will receive free, timely alerts directly to your phone or email. You will not only be notified of emergency information, but will also receive information concerning campus closings due to severe weather.
