NOTE: The application process for the dental hygiene program requires a criminal background check. Licensure in Arkansas also requires a state and federal criminal background check.
Admission into the dental hygiene program is competitive. Students who meet the minimum criteria identified above are eligible to apply for admission.
- Application Deadline – May 20 for fall entry into the program
- Eligible students must apply for admission online before the application deadline.
Selection is based on successful completion of the admission criteria and is a highly competitive process. Due to program size limitations, meeting admission requirements does not guarantee admission into the program. Those with higher GPAs on prerequisite courses and TEAS scores will rank higher in selection. The most qualified applicants will be contacted after the admissions deadline for an interview.
Following the completion of the interview process, the top applicants will be offered positions for the available seats in the dental hygiene program. Meeting the minimum requirements for admission or taking courses on the dental hygiene degree plan does not guarantee admission into the program. Students not admitted must reapply to be considered for another year. Students chosen as alternates are not guaranteed a position in the next class.
