Welcome to Elementary Education!
We believe in the power of education and the profound difference it can make in the life of a child. The foundation for learning that a child receives in elementary school prepares them for the remainder of their educational career.
Earning an elementary education degree will prepare you to teach kindergarten through 6th grade. With UAFS you'll have the opportunity to participate in innovative practices such as teacher apprenticeship, a paid year-long residency program during your senior year. You'll also participate in embedded classes, spending extended periods in K-6 classrooms, and have the opportunity to earn a Special Education or Early Childhood endorsement to bolster your teaching license.
Our graduates teach in private and public schools across the nation.
Elementary Education
UAFS's Bachelor of Science in elementary education (grades K-6) combines advanced theory with extensive hands-on public school experience to deliver a degree that ensures you are ready to lead your classroom upon graduation. UAFS's program is the only one in the state of Arkansas to offer teacher apprenticeships (paid teaching internships) and one of only two to incorporate Professional Development Schools into its curriculum. Pre-K Level, Age 3-4 Endorsement
This 13 hour program is an add-on to the elementary education K-6 license. It is open to students who are pursuing the Bachelor of Science in elementary education and currently licensed teachers who wish to add the endorsement to their existing license. Click here to learn more.
